America’s Animal Sheltering System is Broken

A system that saves only 50% of the homeless animals it takes into its shelters is broken. The following is a condensed White Paper Advocating for a total change to animal sheltering in America.

It is time to change the management of animal shelters from police and government control, to private ownership, supported by local communities budgets.

Additionally a twenty first century Green Humane Society model is needed to involve the public in the solution.

Each Green Pet Village will be a multi-acre, multi-services, multi-million dollar privately owned and managed community animal center.  Each Green Pet  Village will include a no-kill adoption center, be anchored by a national pet store, along with a myriad of retail pet boutiques.

Additionally, on each multi-acre community destination site there will be a state of the art veterinary facility, pet hotel, pet grooming store, pet-friendly restaurants, and a multi-acre indoor and outdoor pet event facility.

Green Pet Village is a bold and audacious idea. One day soon Green Pet Villages will crisscross the United States. Why? because a new day for animal welfare has come. Today’s pet parents are compassionate, accepting only the most compassionate care for their companion animals.

Today our companion animals are finally seen as living sentient beings that feel pain, experience love, and give us their total unconditional love. They seek only to please us and be with us. They teach us how to live happy lives. The future for companion animals is bright.
